| Omar forced to develop love for Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 9: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, after neglecting Jammu for five years has suddenly developed soft corner for the Jammu. CM who had already posted on his facebook page and also on twitter handle about how he misses weather in Kashmir and did make it a point to rush to Srinagar after opportunity has now started addressing the Jammu. Omar in his opening address at a press conference in Jammu on the opening of the Durbar had called the Jammu, a city of temples. The timing was crucial as the Durbar had opened just a day before the visit of Rahul Gandhi and Congress has not only major stake in Jammu but hopes to increase its tally from here in the next Assembly elections. Today Omar also called Jammu the city of temples and explained how he had personally taken care to develop the city. The sudden love for Jammu from a person who had during the height of Amarnath Land row had said in Parliament that Kashmiris will not give an inch of land does raise some eye-brows. Omar has now realized the National Conference can't even emerge as the single largest party leave alone forming a Government on its own. He has also acknowledged the fact that it will be a fight between PDP and Congress, though Cong with much large base could emerge a winner. Congress has major stake in Jammu region and antagonizing Jammu would mean putting the Congress on wrong side of NC and thus giving PDP a leeway to come close to the Congress. PDP has already developed roots in Jammu and is hoping to cash in on his growing good will in Jammu to come close to the Congress. PDP patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had addressed maximum number of rallies in Jammu than any other politicians and he knows that route to power goes from Jammu. It's something which Omar has realized now and is trying to undo his past actions against Jammu but people know the real and political reason for it. |
