Jammu, Nov 9: J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said it is becoming difficult to gag media these days.
He said even if politicians want to gag media they would fail to do so. Responding to media men on the sidelines of a function in Jammu Omar said I don't think there is any ban on media.
He said it is difficult to gag media these days even if politicians want to they won't be able to do so. He said media has become powerful, energetic and courageous these days and no one can gag media.
Omar said earlier there were limited number of papers and TV channels but now media has witnessed large scale growth and besides emergence of social media has made it difficult to do so.
Commenting on the recent order of the Gauhati High Court on CBI Omar said, the Government should take steps to give CBI a 'constitutional shape' in the wake of the Gauhati High Court order, as it has serious implications for the "very important agency,"
He said, "The Government should think very seriously what steps are needed to be taken to give proper structure and constitutional shape to CBI."
