| Rana, Sagar to strengthen secularism, really? | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 9: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Ali Mohammad Sagar and Provincial President, J&K National Conference, Jammu Province, Devender Singh Rana today expressed concern over growing tendencies of inciting passions and said that instead of highlighting polices and programme, some political outfits were unleashing hatred between various segments of people with an eye on 2014 elections. "National Conference will fight tooth and nail these elements to keep the flag of secularism aloft", they said while addressing the inaugural function of newly constructed Panchayat Garh at Marh at Block Dansal this afternoon. Sagar and Rana both will be shocked to know the views of the commoner viz-a-viz secularism and National Conference. According to Kashmiri Pandits, Sher-e-Kashmir too was communal what to speak of Dr Farooq or Omar Abdullah. A book written by a Pandit Professor on Seven Exoduses of Kashmiri Pandits proves the point beyond any doubt. The author holds even Dr Farooq responsible for persecution of Pandits in Kashmir Valley. And as far as Rana is concerned, he has been accused of inciting communal passions during the Amarnath Land Row in 2008. The two leaders also talked about Panchayat elections. Yes, the elections were held but did they serve any purpose? Even Rahul Gandhi, who happens to be a close friend of Omar Abdullah urged Omar to implement 73rd and 74 amendments of Indian constitution to empower the panchayats. The panchayat members are not entertained anywhere, not even in Government departments. The National Conference Government `molested' the Right to Information Act and a movement for restoring its glory is on. Does Rana and Sagar know it? |
