| Baby with two heads born in Kulgam | | | Saahil Suhail
Kulgam, Nov 9: In rarest of rare cases in medical history of Valley, a Kashmiri woman in South Kashmir's Kulgam district has given birth to a baby having two heads but only two legs and two arms. 30 years old Haseena Bajum, resident of Chakoora Shopian is the mother of a Polycephaly baby but is still unaware about the Conjoined twins as the baby was immediately shifted to G P Pant hospital in Srinagar as a critical patient. Hospital authorities at District Hospital Kulgam found it too difficult to handle the case as according to them they haven't seen such type of a baby ever before. They said that Haseena was admitted on Friday and it was expected that she may give birth to twins but after the caesarean was over we were shocked to see that the woman gave birth to a baby having two heads. "I was shocked to see the baby and yes it was most difficult task for us," Dr Parveena told Early Times, adding mother of the baby is fit. She said that they haven't informed the mother about the nature of the baby. She also confirmed that baby was shifted to GP Pant Hospital; however the doctors didn't reveal the health condition of the baby. According to doctors, the two-headed boy is, in reality, conjoined twins who share a single body. The condition is known as dicephalic parapagus - an extremely unusual form of conjoinment. |
