| National level teacher training programme at GMCE held | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 9: Gandhi Memorial College of Education (GMCE) in collaboration with State Institute of Education and Maharashtra Education Society Pune organized a National level Teacher Training exchange Programme starting from Nov 9 to 13 Nov 13. Prof (Dr) Ashok Aima H.O.D of MBA (TTM) Central University Jammu was the chief guest on this occasion. In his inaugural address he laid stress on the academic excellence of institutions and praised the management for organizing such events . A.K Raina general secretary (HESK) while speaking said that said programme is based on practical activities for teachers to carry out in their classroom practices, which will drive them into professional development and improvements in students learning. Further he said that the programme shall be strengthened by resource persons of SIE Jammu Resource persons of HESK and Maharashtra. B.L Zutshi (Educational Advisor to HESK) who is also presiding over the function in his speech, said that education is the key to the task of nation-building. It is also a well-accepted fact that providing the right knowledge and skills to the youth can ensure the overall national progress and economic growth. Prof.G.LKoul (Principal GMCE) welcomed the guests and said that Indian education system recognizes the role of education in installing the values of secularism, egalitarianism, respect for democratic traditions and civil liberties and quest for justice. SanjayDhar (member EB) presented a vote of thanks on this occasion. Five sessions were conducted on the first day of the programme sessions were chaired by Prof. Hema Koul and Prof Usha Dhar from GMCE Jammu, eminent educationists and intellectuals from various /schools/educational institutes of great repute across the state/country largely formed the target participants and audience. Some prominent persons from state were among the august gathering. The core concept of the programme is that by training teachers better, and equipping them with right resources would help them to tackle student's problems in the classroom, and the effect would be significant and long-lasting. |
