| Two killed, 22 injured in road mishap | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Nov 9: In a tragic accident two persons were killed while 22 others injured when a bus in which they were traveling in skidded off from the road on Udhampur -Jagnoo road today. "The deceased have been identified as Mohd Hussain (34 years) r/o Jaganu and Daleer Ahmed about 28 years s/o Bahsir Ahmed, police sources said. According to reports, ill-fated vehicle (JK02AU-7617) was on way from Jaganoo to Udhampur skidded off the road this morning about 0930 hours when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn near Jaganoo Morh about 8 kms from Udhampur resulting in the death of one person on spot and injuring others.
Soon-after receiving the information about the accident, Army and Police swung into action immediately and evacuated injured passengers and shifted them to District hospital."Out of the injured conductor of the bus succumbed his injuries in DH Udhampur taking the death toll to two persons, sources said, adding bodies haves been kept in Mortuary of DH Udhampur and other legal formalities.
Anil Magotra, Superintendent of Police Udhampur said that police teams immediately rushed to spot and evacuated all the injured civilians from the site of accidents. "In this connection a Case stands registered in Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on, he said. |
