Jammu, Nov 10: Protest demonstrations were held against the power cuts on Janipur High Court roads today The residents of New Plot, Sarwal, Rehari, Janipur, Lakkarmandi, High Court Ambbedkar Nagar, Jawahar nagar, Tali Morh, Indira Colony, Shant Nagar, and many other localities of the west assembly constituency joined protest rally, against the PDD power cuts in the winter capital Jammu city and particularly in the west assembly constituency. Addressing the protestors Sunil Dimple president Jammu west assembly movement said the light in the localities of the constituency and the Raj Bhawan Governor's House went off due to weak PDD infrastructure that led to the electricity failure. Sunil Dimple alleged the Govt is spending lacs of rupees on the advertisements to mislead the people to show its achievements, but not even the single penny has been spent on the improvement of the power infrastructure of the PDD supply and the water supply schemes in the constituency in the last five years of the Govt. He alleged in the summer season the people of the constituency and the city suffered 12 to 15 hours power cuts. He alleged the weak PDD power infrastructure at Janipur grid station is so defunct that the a mouse today put the whole system in to darkness and it is not for the first time as before also it has happened many times but the PDD officers remain unconcerned. He alleged every time the feeders, jumpers, cities signals and the transformers remain out of orders. Dimple demanded the chief minister to install the fresh new receiving station of 50 MVA at Janipur to overcome the load problem and the curtailment of power cuts. |
