| PYC infighting: Performance Report likely to be trashed | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 10: Notwithstanding aggressive posture assumed by incumbent Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) president Shahnawaz Chowdhary, central leadership has deputed a team to look into allegations levelled against him. Insiders said that national president of Youth Congress Rajiv Satab has taken serious note of the allegation levelled against the State president so he immediately deputed a team to look into the allegations. During their visit to New Delhi, detractors of Shahnawaz Chowdhary had reportedly provided some authentic information to high command to substantiate their allegations. Sources said that it was all due to the results of the authentic proofs provided by the detractors that high command has decided not to consider "Performance Report" provided by the incumbent president. Sources said that team deputed by national president visited Jammu in the first week of November and interacted with cross sections of party leaders. "Decision on the future of incumbent president would be taken very soon", sources said and added that detractors of Shahnawaz have already made it clear to the high command they would not work under him. Six party leaders were served show cause notices by the J&K PYC in-charge Chetan Chouhan for going to the media. Executive committee of PYC, in its meeting on October 23, had levelled serious allegation of corruption and nepotism against state president of PYC and decided not to attend any meeting chaired by the president in future. Show cause notices were served to Pranav Shagotra, vice-president, RS Pathania, Manjeet Singh Jatt, Abid Kashmiri, Dr Rashid Choudhary (all general secretaries) and Rajveer Singh Manhas, secretary. In the notice all these leaders have been asked to tender explanations within five days. Instead of giving explanations, these leaders had rushed to New Delhi to educate the high command about the real situation. It was due to result of their Delhi visit that team was sent to investigate the allegations. |
