| Congress accords dangerous legitimacy to separatist Geelani | | Poll boycott | | Neha
JAMMU, Nov 18: Tehrik-e-Hurriyat chief Syed Ali Shah Geelani is a well-known pro-Pakistan separatist and hardcore terrorist. He is not an ethnic Kashmiri. It is also too well-known that he has been exploiting the name of Islam for worldly gains since decades. Besides, it is also too well-known that he has been living on the blood and sweat of the gullible Kashmiri Muslims belonging to a particular religious sect - a sect that controls all or nearly all the Kashmir-based separatist organizations and the so-called mainstream political outfits, including the National Conference, Communist Party of India and the Communist Party of India-Marxist and that has been ruling the state and exploiting the people of Jammu and Ladakh and other religious and ethnic minorities in Kashmir since October1947, when the then Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru conspired against Jammu and transferred political power from the Dogras to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah of the National Conference. But more than that, it is also too well-known that he has been surviving and thriving and playing rabidly anti-India games in Kashmir and New Delhi because of the overt and covert official support. The truth is that it is the state government and the Congress-dominated minority UPA Government at the Centre which are equally responsible for all the crimes committed by Geelani and his ilk in Kashmir and Delhi. It is parties like the Congress which have all along accorded a dangerous respectability to Geelani and his ilk for vote-bank politics. What former Cabinet Minister in the Ghulam Nabi Azad-led coalition government and AICC member Abdul Gani Vakil said yesterday needs to be viewed in this context. Vakil on Sunday appealed to Geelani to revoke his poll boycott call. He did not stop just there. He went on to say that "holding of elections in the state and resolving of Kashmir problem are two separate issues". He made this outrageous statement while addressing a public meting at Haran, Ganderbal. Vakil undoubtedly spoke the language of separatists and directly said that Kashmir is not a settled issue. The very fact that he appealed to Geelani to revisit his poll boycott decision and said that the elections and the Kashmir issue are two different things must establish that he is as dangerous as all other Kashmiri separatists and the so-called mainstream Valley-based outfits are and that the Congress is according a dangerous legitimacy to Syed Ali Shah Geelani. It would be foolish to assume that Vakil made this atrocious statement on his own or without the consent of the Congress high command. He must have obtained prior permission from the Congress high command to make this unsettling statement. It is no wonder then that certain concerned nationals dismiss with contempt the Congress as a "very dangerous" organization and an organization that "has been consistently undermining the Indian sovereignty and its territorial integrity and destroying the political and constitutional institutions to pander to communal and separatist forces across the country". |
