| Salman rejects Omar's statement on Modi as election gimmick | | | Javaid Naikoo
Srinagar, Nov 18: JKPCC chief, Saif-ud-Din Soz's son, Salman Soz said on his Facebook page that Omar's statement on Modi and PDP was a mere election gimmick. He wrote that frankly speaking I think it is unlikely that the PDP would form an alliance with a Modi led BJP in future, while as given its past National conference (N.C) may form an alliance with the BJP although even in their case it might be tough to swallow Narendra Modi as the head of the BJP. Salman while elaborating his facebook update wrote that he believes and many analysts also agree that Congress will be part of the next Government in Jammu and Kashmir and an alliance with the BJP is not going to help either National conference or People’s Democratic Party. The facebook update was followed by comments from different people appreciating his views. They also urged him to explore the possibility of an alliance between Congress and PDP after 2014 elections. The statement of Salman Soz against Chief Minister, Omar has come at a time when Chief Minister on Sunday said hidden meetings of PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed with the close associates of former Prime Minister of India Atal Behari Vajpayee and his close contacts with Narendra Modi has come to fore and added that such secret meetings between Mufti Muhammad Syed and BJP members expose the ideology of PDP. While addressing public gathering in South Kashmir's Keller area of Shopian district, Omar Abdullah said that PDP wants to sail in two boats to seek power but their boat will sink due to the weight of its own falsehood, adding that National Conference association with United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is firm and will continue in future as well. Omar Abdullah also said that the hidden association between BJP, PDP and Panthers Party was also exposed earlier when the trio willingly constructed an alliance during the elections of Member of Legislative Council's (MLCs) in the state recently and added that though he has no personal malice with the leadership of PDP but his differences with PDP are based on principals of political issues Notably though recently additional general secretary of National Conference, Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal and uncle of Omar Abdullah criticized the release of separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani saying it was aimed at uprooting NC from Jammu and Kashmir. Omar Abdullah on Sunday had said that administration was confident that Geelnai's release would not hamper the peace and law and order situation in Kashmir and added that when restrictions were on Syed Ali Shah Geelani, opposition party was making hue and cry for lifting of restrictions. |
