| Animal Husbandry Deptt distributes feed to BPL families | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Hiranagar, Dec 5 : In an initiative to the welfare and upliftment farming community living Below Poverty Line (BPL), the Department of Animal Husbandry today distributed feed along with protein supplements to the BPL farmers here at Tehsil Headquarter Hiranagar Subash Chander Gupta Member Legislative Council and President District Congress Committee Kathua was the chief guest which was attended by large farmers and Sarpanches and Panches of different areas. Speaking on the occasion, Subash Chander Gupta appreciated the functioning the Animal Husbandry Department and urged them to made their presence in the far flung yet to be covered areas so that people living in these areas can also take benefits of these schemes. He said that there is no constraint of funds and government is living no stone unturned for providing maximum benefits to the people. He asked people to come forward, know these schemes and put them in their best use for making their living more prosperous and healthy. Dr Sat Pal Verma of Animal Husbandry Department threw light on the various schemes launched by the state as well as central government and exhorted the farming fraternity to draw maximum mileage from these schemes. Dr Surjeet Kumar Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kathua also spoke on the occasion. The said programme was organized under the National Mission for Protein supplement (NMPS) sponsored by the Central Government of India for providing benefits to the needy farmers living below the poverty line. Later in the programme chief guest presented a cheque of Rs 10000/- to the best farmer Smt Suman Jasrotia of Chann Khatrian for her remarkable working in the dairy form. A total of 23 beneficiaries are provided 270 Kg feed along with Protein supplements each for their livestock animals.
