| Modi factor dominates function organised to observe birth anniversary of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah | | Gujarat CM engages NC leaders in "Modi-bashing" job | | Early Times Report jammu, Dec 5: Fear of Narendra Modi continues to haunt ruling National Conference because the function which was organised to observe 108th birth anniversary of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was turned into a Modi bashing platform. Notwithstanding claims of National Conference leaders attempt to undermine importance of Narendra Modi, it is a fact that BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate has set political agenda not only for national politics but for State politics also and all parties are forced to follow that agenda. During 108th birth anniversary function of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan here this morning, speakers started their speeches by criticising Narendra Modi and concluded with cautioning people against "designs" of Modi. It seems that Modi has engaged NC leadership on a job to criticize him on all points. The provincial president of National Conference, Devender Singh Rana, who is most vocal in attacking Narendra Modi, took BJP head on for its sinister machinations with regard to Article 370, saying this was a deliberate attempt to vitiate the political atmosphere ahead of 2014 elections. Instead of replying queries why OBCs are not getting reservation as per their counterparts in other part of the country, NC leaders raised other irrelevant issues to attack Modi. Rana decried the political immaturity of Narendra Modi by describing Jammu and Kashmir as a beggar state. "It is an affront to the people of this state, who love their self esteem more than their lives", he said, adding that Jammu and Kashmir is the only State across the country where people have roof over their heads. He said Sher-e-Kashmir has laid such an edifice and the nature has bestowed so valuable hydel resources that Jammu and Kashmir can become a most prosperous and self-reliant state of India. On the issue of Central assistance to Jammu and Kashmir, the Provincial President said this is a bonafide right of every state and not a courtesy or benevolence extended to us only. "Doesn't Mr Modi's Gujarat receive funds allocated by Planning Commission of India as part of share to each state", he asked and advised BJP leadership to maintain decency and not to stoop so low in pursuit of power. |
