Jammu, Dec 16: A fortnight after the issue was raked up by BJP stalwart Narendra Modi in a vehement manner even as the debate on Article 370 goes on with sporadic reactions from political parties, state unit of BJP is patting itself that its Prime Ministerial candidate has touched upon something which has created unrest in the quarters which were targetted with this political punch.The leaders are upbeat indeed , little knowing that in its fold some trouble has started ticking for the party itself, which if clicks in right direction may cost the organzation a great deal.
Sources said Modi while making a strong reference of Article 370 weaved his arguments around the point that retaining this has only done more harm than any good to the state , his thrsut being on constitution, its vital clauses and provisions, some rival quarters are contemplating to hit the BJP with a similar punch. Sources said that these quarters have been emboldened by the facts on which BJP itself tumbles badly as party, state unit in particular has been violating its own constitution on many fronts. Since the constituion is most sacred and a sort of agreement between the Election COmmission and any party which registers itself with former when it comes into existence, these quarters want to hit the party on same lines as have been raked up by the party stalwart.
Sources said a particular party is contemplating to reach out to EC with some authentic proof to substantiate that BJP has trampled upon its own constitution, violated some vital clauses and has not adhered to guidlines mentioned in it. The party has not also offered many things which it has promised to people through such guidlines in the constituion, said the sources adding that the most vital clue for the dealing a blow in same tone and tenor has come from within the party itself where some elements continue to have liason with the political party whom BJP leadership consdiers main evil in depriving people of J&K benefits of country's constitution. Insiders in the BJP conceded that BJP leaders have indeed faltered on many such lapses which become violative of its own constutituion, a small instance being freshers and new comers in the organisation given senior posts in no time contrary to time and tenure mentioned in the party constitution. Same is lapse in not adhering to provisions and promises made with respect to reservation to various communities which have not been fulfilled in required spirit. However, it also chooses to adopt and implement in no time the provisions and wastes no time in making even amendments those clauses which suits the interests of the leadership, 33 % reservation to women being just instance to corroborate this.
If what is being contemplated by some political quarters to approach EC with this complaint against BJP clicks, the party is in for some big trouble, said the sources adding that it need not be taken lightly as any action from EC can prove damaging as the party may lose registration and even its symbol, if the matter goes too far . |
