| Education institutions celebrate Christmas | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 25: Blossams Kizs School Gangyal today organized a special programme on Merry Christmas Day in the school premises in which a large number of kids along with their parents joined in the celebration. Children danced, played with Santa Claus and received gifts from him. Some children were surprised to see Santa Claus first time in their life. Throwing the light on the history of Christmas, principal Bavita Sharma told that this festival is celebrated across the world with gaiety and enthusiasm and all the religions celebrate this day with happiness. She told that Jesus always preached to choose the path of truth and shun the wrong way in one life. She further said that we have the duty to make sure our life for truthful society. Children of Mother's Pride & Joy Pre-school celebrated Christmas with fanfare at the Pizza hut. The children said hello to Santa and sang and clapped to tunes of the Christmas carols. Besides the children enjoyed sitting in Santa's lap and getting themselves clicked along with Santa who came all the way from North Pole gave away lots of goodies to all the little one! Kids thoroughly enjoyed the lip smacking food and refreshments. Other highlights of the "Christmas Party with Santa" was that all school boys came dressed up in red theme and the girls came dressed in frilly frocks all mingled with the Santa clause. He joined the crowd, giving away sweets to the children and playfully talking to them & cutting the Christmas Cake as the kids enjoyed the Tonga ride. Vishu Public School, Hari Nagar, Old Janipur, Jammu also organized a colorful function. The chief guest was on the occasion of Sushil Kumar and Preeti Bhasin was the guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, Sushil Kumar threw light on the life of the Lord Jesus Christ and exhorted on the students to follow the goodness of Lord Christ irrespective colour, creed and caste. He said that Lord stood for the honest and truthfulness, which is the only motto of every human being. At the end the Principal presented mementos to the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour as a sort of respect. In addition to this the award for best teacher was given to Preeti Bhasin. The principal also gave away prizes to all the participants and extended his thanks to all the school staff and management. Christmas day was celebrated in the Directorate of Distance Education, University of Jammu. The programme was organised by M.Ed batch 2013-14. The function was started with cake cutting by the Director Prof. VD Singh and M Ed Programme Coordinator Dr. Jaspal Singh with Dr Vikas Sharma, Faculty member and NSF President Sukhdev Singh. In the programme all the students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. The function was attended by academic counsellors Prof. Darshna Sharma, Prof. C.L Shivgotra, Prof. Ramzan Ali, Prof. Rakesh, Prof. Deep Kumar, Prof. Rashmi Gupta, Prof. O.P Sharma, Prof. Amit Sharma and Prof. Sunita Kumari. DRS KIDS Pre School, Kathua celebrated the Chrismas with utmost joy. The children came dressed in the vibrant attire of Santa looking forward to celebrate X-mass. The school organized individual class party for every class wherein they shared and ate with each other while singing X-mass carols. The school echoed with X-mass carols along with the Santa dashing inside the school premises merrily surprising the students and giving them gifts. The school was attractively decorated with X-mass trees and tiny Santas playing around it. Thereby giving due prominence to the occasion. Satya pal Sharma (chairperson) along with Bhumika Sharma, the Principal of DRS KIDS Preschool Shiva Nagar Kathua, wished all the children and teachers on the occasion.
