| Re-employed FC PWD (R&B) refuses to quit for new official | | | Arun Singh Jammu, Dec 25: The Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has seemingly failed to keep his word to do away with re-employment culture as a retired Financial Controller in Public Works (R&B) Department who was re-employed as consultant Pradhan Mantri Grahmeen Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) is also sitting on the post of FC and refuses to handover the charge to a new official sent by Finance Department. Sources told Early Times that the official Ghulam Ali who retired as Financial Controller around three months back was awarded with plum post as consultant PMGSY due to patronage of his bosses. "Recently Finance Department sent a new official to take charge of FC to free Ghulam Ali but he was not allowed to join due to the reason best known to the authority concern," they said. They further said that the re-employment of Ghulam Ali as consultant PMGSY in total violation of the government order which puts a ban on re-employment of retired government employees has already drawn severe criticism from various quarters in J&K as lakhs of unemployed youth who are struggling to get government job. He has managed to retain the charge of FC and not giving the charge to new official appointed by Finance Department. "His job as consultant is to provide objective advice, expertise and specialist skills to the concerned department but astoundingly his also holding charge of FC which is in fact not his area of concern," sources maintained. They said that government in its order 325-PW(R&B) of 2013 accorded sanction to appointment of Ghulam Ali as Consultant PMGSY for one year from September.
