| NMC urges Omar to release pending allowance | | | Early Times Reports
JAMMU, Dec 25: Emphasizing on the need for early release of 10 percent DA due from July, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to release the pending installment of Dearness allowance in the ensuing cabinet meeting. According to press release, NMC members said that the state government should take decision in this regard at the earliest to catch up to the employees of central government and pensioners who have already been given this installment prior to last four months. Pleading the cause of employees and pensioners, NMC demanded enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month beside immediate release of 3rd installment of 6th pay commission arrears as rising prices of all essential commodities had made the life of salaried class and pensioners very miserable. He further said that the need on formulation of comprehensive policy about the regularization of daily wagers casual and seasonal labour serving in various government departments. "Removal of all pay anomalies of clerical cadre, increase in the emolument of daily wagers to rupee ten thousand per month, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers working in the Rural Development Department, reorganization of the floriculture department beside granting technical grade to Gardeners of the department and release of all pending wages of causal labour working in public works department" said members of NMC.
