JAMMU, Dec 25: Youth wing of Awami National Conference (ANC) today celebrated Christmas at Kanji House, Ward-7 Jammu. Greeting the people on Christmas, ANC Youth President, Raj Sharma hoped that this auspicious occasion would be a portent of peace, progress and prosperity for the State. Highlighting the importance of day he said that the apostle of peace, Jesus Christ, preached love, compassion and brotherhood, adding that his teachings are perhaps more relevant now than ever before, when the world is ridden with hate, greed, intolerance and violence. He expressed sincere hope that this auspicious occasion would usher the strengthening of communal bonds, brotherhood, amity and the glorious pluralistic traditions for which Jammu and Kashmir has been known for centuries. Jesus showed the way to foster humanity by showering love and peace and adapting tolerance. He asked people to carry the ''divine spirit of Christmas to promote peace and harmony, by obliterating narrow divisions of race, religion, caste, creed or community.'' ''Let us disseminate warm vibes of love, joy and peace and share our joy and gratitude with our fellow citizens,'' he said. Distt President,Vijay Magotra also extended Christmas greetings to the people wishing them well being and prosperity. In his greetings on Christmas, he said that this day stands for preaching love, brotherhood, peace, tolerance and selfless service to mankind. Adding further he said that "Let us on the holy occasion of Christmas, rededicate ourselves to the ideals and preachings of Lord Jesus Christ and promote brotherhood, love, compassion and lead a moral and truthful living. let us take a pledge on the occasion to follow the ideals of Jesus Christ by sinking our differences to spread peace and brotherhood and live in unity", he added.On this occasion dozen youth also joined ANC including Manjeet Singh,Deepak Kumar,Sat Kumar, Arjun Kumar,Kartik Kumar, Mangoo Ram, Puppy Kumar beside others. Those prominent who were present on this occasion include Sanjay Lalotra, Vivek Magotra, Vivek Sharma,VK Samral, Radhir Talwar, Darshan Lal among others.
