| 3 bovine smuggling bids foiled, 22 rescued | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 25: Police today foiled three bovine smuggling bids and rescued 22 bovines in spate incidents at different places. Police sources said that Ghagwal police after specific information raised a naka at national highway and intercepted a Truck bearing registration number JK02AG-5095 and rescued 10 bovine animals. Police said that driver of the truck identified as Fiayaz Ahmed resident of Ragoora was arrested. Meanwhile, Ghagwal police intercepted a Balero bearing registration number JK08C-8749 and rescued 8 bovine animals from the vehicle. Police said that driver of the vehicle identified as Ajay Kumar of Badyal Brahmana RS Pura has been arrested. Both the cases have been registered at Ghagwal police station. Police further said that said that on specific information, party led by inspector Surinder Raina, SHO Khour under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohammad Rayees Bhat raised a naka at Dhangri (Khour). "During naka a truck bearing registration JK011-1006 was intercepted and on searching of the vehicle police party rescued 4 bovine animals which were being transported illegally from Khour to Rajouri", said police officials. The driver of the said vehicle identified as Mohammad Asif of Thandi Kassi Rajouri, along with Yassar of Mainnar Rajouri, Kali Dass of Datial Akhnoor who were also involved in this case have been arrested. All the accused were taken into Police custody. In this connection a case FIR No. 88/13 under section 188 of RPC has been registered and investigation has been initiated. |
