| Launches first computerized settlement work in Jammu | | Revenue Department goes hi-tech | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 28: To expedite the settlement work, first computerized settlement work has been launched from Tehsil Akhnoor by the Revenue Department under the supervision of R K Shavan, Regional Director Survey and Land Records. As per the details available with Early Times, the computerized settlement was launched from village Airanpur of Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu where large number of people participated. In his address the Regional Director said that by the use of latest technology and the software four to five steps will be skipped which usually caused delay and the computer generated data will now enhance the pace of Work. He said that under normal circumstances, a village which on an average took 1 year by manual method would now be completed approximately in 4 to 5 months. He informed that in village Airanpur there is a target of approximately 450 Khasra numbers to be measured for which record is to be prepared. He showed his happiness the way the people of the area have highly appreciated the efforts of the government and assured full cooperation with the revenue agency. He said that government has taken various measures to expedite the settlement work and addedvthat in the recent past Chief Minister himself took the review and expected the completion of settlement work in state in the time bound manner. He said that in Tehsil Akhnoor three villages namely Airanpur, Darh, Chak Tagwal and Badhan have been selected in first instance for completion of settlement by the latest technology. |
