| Cong hopes to blunt BJP by forming Govt | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 28: Congress has strongly indicated that it will like to head a Government even if there is any sort of pre-poll alliance with a regional party. The party has started a campaign in Jammu region telling the voters that it's the only party that can share a power and can get more rights for the people of region. "Congress is the only party which can share the power and for it people must vote for it for the issues of the Jammu," Cong MP Madan Lal Sharma said today. According to sources, the state leadership has been told by the party high command that the party must take up this issue with the people of the Jammu and tell them that their rights are secured with this party than any other party. "We know BJP will try to ride on Modi wave and would make every possible attempt to cut our votes. But Cong is now telling the people that only it can share the power with a clear signal that people will lose their chance of participation in the Government if they vote for the BJP. This message will blunt the advantage the BJP is trying to seek on Modi," said a senior Congress leader. The party will strongly campaign in the Jammu on the issue that if it gets maximum seats from the Jammu region than even if there is a post or pre-poll alliance the party would be in a dominant position to have its terms and condition accepted and will not be playing a second fiddle in the governance. "Party is also trying to tell the people that if it's given maximum seats than it would not be in the same position as it is now in an arrangement with the NC where Omar Abdullah got full six years tenure a CM. It will also try to convince the voters that their vote would be tasted as far as governance or power sharing is concerned they vote for the BJP," said a Congress Minister. |
