MENDHAR, Dec 28: Jaat youth federation Poonch and Jaat Student Union State Jammu & Kashmir demanded OBC status for jaat community in J&K State too. They assembled here in the tehsil office Mendhar today and raised there slogan that why the central Govt. is ignoring the JaaT community in J&K for granting OBC status. The community in J&K is backward in education and facing a lot of other problems. They louded the problems faced by the community residing in the backward and border areas. 70% people of the community are without education and employment. The community needed special status of OBC like other States which Government of India has taken decision of granting OBC status. They stressed that since 1947 and in independence struggle the community sacrificed their lives for there Country to get independence, for integration of the country and in other war like situations. The youth of the community are always ready for sacrificing their lives for the country whenever needed. The Government of India should formulate the steps for uplifting the community. The leaders of the community appealed to UPA Government led by PM Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi to grant OBC Status for the community. Jaat Youth Federation Poonch & Jaat Student Union appealed to CM Omar Abdullah for granting the OBC status for the community in J&K. Those who presents on the occasion Javaid jatt president student youth federation Fareed Chowdhary, Adil Chowdhary, Imtiaz Jatt, Sajad Chowdhary, Qamar Jatt, Naseer Chowdhary, Fasial Jatt, Irfan Chowdhary, were also present. |
