Jammu, Dec 28 : The Jammu and Kashmir Police, has recovered the currency Chest of the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and arrested one of the accused within 48 hours. According to the police a gang of burglars entered the Punjab National Bank ATM at sector-7 Nanak Nagar and took away the ATM machine containing cash of Rs. 4,01,700. Senior officers rushed to the spot and investigation was started by the Station House Officer (SHO) Gandhi Nagar, Insp. Rajinder Sharma under the supervision of Sub Divisional Police Office (SDPO) city South Zahid Aziz and Superintendent of Police (SP) city South Rahul Malik. During the raids on the specific clues, police has arrested one of the gnd member namely Kalla S/o Sheru R/o Chinnor Farms (Chadgaali). On his discloser, the currency chest of the ATM has been recovered intact in a heap of cow dung, at Meen Sarkar near Sarore Adda in front of the a hut on one of the co accused namely Chedu S/o Hamid R/o Meen Sarkar. Atul Goel, Senior Superintendent of Police, (SSP) Jammu in a press Conference said, "We have identified all the accused, one has been arrested and other will be arrested soon, the investigation is on." "It seems that 6-9 people were involved in this robbery, some of them have previous criminal records, the currency chest has been recovered intact, cash is safe in the box, it can be open by the engineers of the bank only," he added. |
