Jammu, Dec 28: Provincial President, Awami National Conference (ANC) Gian Singh has said that the party has an active agenda for political empowerment of weaker sections and called for larger participation of people belonging to these segments for their better tomorrow. "Social justice and economic emancipation of the underprivileged classes is corner stone of the cherished agenda of Awami National Conference", Singh said at a function held at Patyali Chak, Marh Block here this afternoon in connection with the joining of Several prominent ladies and their supporters into the party in presence of President Women Wing Neelam Kumari. On this occasion ANC distributed fifty shawls among destitute ladies. Welcoming new entrants and their supporters in the party fold, Singh attributed the spurt in joining of prominent social activists, belonging to vast mass of society, into ANC as a logical and positive development, saying that strengthening of Awami National Conference is in the overall interests of the state besides marginalizing communal and divisive elements", he maintained. The Provincial President hoped that their presence in the ranks will help the party to achieve mega success in the upcoming elections. He described ANC as a movement that has been carrying along all segments of society who believe in democratic values and oneness of the State, irrespective of caste, creed and colour. Speaking on the occasion President Women Wing Neelam Kumari warned the women around the Jammu city and the women of the state to be careful about the vicious people who are only interested to create havoc. She said Women's role is to bring peace, prosperity and development of any place, whether at home or outside the home. She said we have to face and answer back the destructive people who do not know what positive politics means. She assured them that she will work shoulder to shoulder to solve their genuine issues and problems. Speaking on the occasion Youth President Raj assured them that they have taken right decision at right time and they will have every opportunity to say what they want to say for the welfare of the people of the area. Addressing the new entrants Magotra maintained that the policies and programmes of ANC have always been transparent and pro people and if they are given the mandate this time they will ensure peace, progress and prosperity of the state.
