JAMMU, Jan 10: Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) through its selection committee today shortlist 24 probable for prestigious 68th Santosh Trophy after holding four-day trials at GGM Science College ground, here. Now, the selected probable shall undergo a coaching camp at Science College ground till team's departure on January 28 for Delhi, the venue for the zonal competition. Majority of these selected players, including nine from Jammu, belongs to professional sides of J&K Bank, J&K Forests, Food and Supplies and Power Development as also from departmental teams of J&K Police and Accountant General (AG's) Office. Placed in group-B of the initial zonal round, J&K shall compete against Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh on January 31, February two and February four respectively. Top two teams from each zone shall qualify for the final round of the championship scheduled tobe played at Siliguri in West Bengal from February 26. The selection was made by the penal of selectors including Mohammad Shafi Nari, Abdul Majeed Kakroo, State Sports Council coaches, Satpal Singh and Vishwamitra. As and when selected the final team will be accompanied by Muhammad Shafi Nari as coach, Majid Yousuf Dar as manager and Dr Karran Nayyar as team Physio. The Probable: Vikramjeet Singh, Faisal Ahmad, Amritesh, Wasim Feroz, Yasin Rasheed, Aman Thapa, Gautam Mehra, Azhar Ali, Ashiq Mushtaq, Shahnawaz Bashir, Mukesh Kumar, Romesh Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Khalid Qayoom, Jamsheed, Asif Majeed, Zameerul Hassan, Waseem Yousuf, Sandeep, Prem Kumar, Amir Ahmad, Toufeeq Ahmed, Shahid Mushtaq and Amanjoot Singh. |
