| Who is playing "dirty politics" on General VK Singh's controversy? | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 10: Although president of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Saif Ud Din Soz has opposed personally calling former Army Chief General (retired) VK Singh, some forces in the State were trying hard to ensure that General Singh would be summoned to the State at any cost. As per the reports, the General Singh has written a letter in respond to the notice of the Privilege Committee but letter was deliberately not accepted by some personals of the Legislative Council on the direction of some individuals. Highly placed sources said that some forces have been trying their best to ensure that General VK Singh should be forced to appear in person so these forces have hatched a conspiracy with the connivance of some officials of the Legislative Council secretariat to ensure that letter of VK Singh should not be accepted any cost. Some political forces which want to undermine sanctity of the Indian Army wants to give a message to the people of the State especially of the Kashmir Valley that they forced ex-chief of the Indian Army to appear like an accused in the State of Jammu and Kashmir so they have been playing this dirty game. Sources said that Congress was not interested to further rake up General Singh's issue but some political groups have been trying to exploit this issue to reap political benefits in Kashmir Valley by demonizing Indian Army. Congress leadership is very much aware that disrespect to General Singh would have impact in Jammu region because General Singh is symbol of the respect of Indian Army. Interestingly those who are hell bent to undermine sanctity of Indian Army are themselves taking huge personal benefits from Indian Army. Insiders said that Congress leadership has cautioned against further exploiting this issue but some forces are trying to further intensify this issue to gain political benefit. |
