| Come weekend and Omar moves out of Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 10: As the civil secretariat closed for this week in Jammu, the Chief Minister moved out of the winter capital. He remained in the capital for only one and a half days and during this time also he preferred to go to Udhampur. For past five years, people of winter capital and whole region have witnessed that Omar hardly stays in Jammu and listens to the grievances of people of the region. At every weekend, he is either seen in New Delhi or in Srinagar where he enjoys on the tax payer's money. He is not the Chief Minister for only working days but he has been elected for term of six years and when the darbar moves in Jammu, he must give most of his time to people of this region. The fun of darbar moves was basically to provide an opportunity to people of both regions to get redressal of demands. But this National Conference-Congress coalition Government has never acted like a responsible Government. The Chief Minister must learn from the Governor, who is the constitutional head of the state, as he spends most of the time in Jammu during winters and in Srinagar during summers. The Governor doesn't move out of Jammu at every weekend and enjoys on snow peaks in Gulmarg or five-star hotels in New Delhi. A Chief Minister has to think about people of the state as how could they be benefited but this Government has taken it for granted that they have every right to spend the tax payer's money wherever they want. Every day, one or the other Minister is either in New Delhi or any other part of the country, not for the official work, but for their personal appointments. The Government must shun this approach and work for the betterment of the state. |
