JAMMU, Jan 10: A host of coaches from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and State Sports Council as also those young and senior players from different sports disciplines today paid tributes to former international Handball player and coach, Arun Sharma at MA Stadium, here today. Remembering the departed soul, speakers recalled the services rendered by Arun as Sports Officer of the State Sports Council. They also highlighted the achievements of Arun Sharma as football and handball player and his contributions in bringing J&K on the international map. "Arun was the man behind golden era of handball in Jammu and Kashmir. He will be remembered for producing most number of international handball players from the state," paying tributes, Sports Officer of State Sports Council, Rajan Sharma told gathering.Earlier, a two-minute silence was observed by a strong gathering of over 400 coaches and players to pay respect to the departed soul. They prayed to the Almighty to bestow courage to the family to bear the irreparable loss of untimely demise and peace to the soul of Arun Sharma. |
