| PHE employees stage protest, demand resolution of issues | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 10: PHE Workers Welfare Association Jammu Province today staged a massive protest demonstration in support of their long pending demands including regularization of ITI and non ITI workers on the pattern of Rehabar-e-Taleem near office of Chief Engineer PHE Department BC Road. The PHE employees of raised slogans for their pending demands which was led by its provincial General Secretary Subash Verma. While addressing the protestors, Subash Verma said every after 18 years PHE workers have not been regularized yet, which is the matter of grave concern fo us. He further added that the monthly wages is being paid to these workers partially and thrice in year and due to the anti-employees stance of the state government, the families of these daily rated workers have reached on the verge of starvation and feeling in secure regarding their future. He called upon the state government and the HPE concerned authority that our workers should not be taken for granted forever and they are fully aware about their basic rights and know how to achieve the same. Bakshi Singh Provincial President of association in his address warned the state government of launching massive agitation from first week of February in case it failed to concede its demands by January 25, 2014. Meanwhile leaders of the association highlighted their other demands on the occasion like clearance for all backlog wages of daily rated workers, holding of DPC meeting of senior most deserving employees against vacant posts, framing of new recruitment/ engagement policy for PHE Department. Prominent among the others participated in the protest included Omkar Sharma, Rattan Doshi, Tilak, Khalil Mirza, Babu Singh, Rashid Jaral, Zaman Khan, and Chain Kumar. |
