early times report Kathua, Jan 10: In order to seek suggestions and proposals with regard to the creation of new administrative units, the Cabinet Sub-Committee on creation of new administrative units headed by Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand visited Kathua district and interacted with representatives of different political parties, Sarpanchs and civil society members in the premises of DC Office Complex in Kathua today. Members of the Committee included minister for Urban Development & Urban Local Bodies Nawang Rigzin Jora, Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma; Minister for Agriculture production , G.H. Mir; Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Minister for Planning & Development, Ajay Sadhotra and Mir Saifullah Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs were present on the ocassion. Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand while speaking on the occasion said that Government has created Cabinet Sub-Committee to examine and consider the demands and proposals of the people for the establishment of new administrative units in the State. He invited suggestions from the political representatives, Sarpanchs and civil society members so that delimitation as per the aspirations of the people is made. Member Parliament Udhampur-Doda-Kathua constituency Ch Lal Singh, Minister for State for Fisheries & Cooperatives MLA Billawar Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Political representatives and members of civil society in which legislators from Kathua MLA Charanjit Singh, MLA Basohli Jagdish Raj Spolia, MLA Hiranagar Durga Dass, MLC Subash Gupta besides Ex Minister Prem Sagar Aziz from Bani , Ex MLA Kathua Dhian Chand put forth their suggestions for establishing new Sub-Divisions, CD Blocks, Niabats, Patwar Halqas in their respective areas. Various political party representatives including Congress, National Conference (NC), Peoples' Democratic Party(PDP), Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) etc, besides Sarpanchs, Civil Society and Bar Association Members spoke on the occasion and presented their demands and suggestions. The demand of new hilly district conjunctly from Basohli, Billawar & Bani tehsils was well backed by all political and civil representatives present on the occasion. The Committee members gave patient hearing and assured the people that the matter will be discussed and taken into consideration.
