People hold protest against PDD, disrupts traffic

Rajouri, Jan 10: Inhabitants of Ward No 2 today blocked the traffic at Abdullah bridge in the heart of city of Rajouri district in protests against the Power Department alleging that the department has failed to provide electricity regularly.
The protest was held under the banner of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). They alleged that the department is supplying electricity for about only 5-6 hours in a day which has badly affected the business community and specially students whose examinations are approaching fast.
Inhabitants of ward No2 said that for the last two days they are without electricity and the officials don't bother to mitigate their problem.
"The long power curtailments have badly affected the studies of the students and they are finding it very difficult to carry their routine work" said Mohd Amin.
ABVP activists who held protest near tehsil office raised slogans against the state government and XEN, PDD and alleged that the government has badly failed to provide electricity, even during prevailing chilly weather, to the people of Rajouri and Poonch district.
