Child labour: Illegal works managed authoritatively
1/10/2014 11:14:28 PM
early times report
Kathua, Jan 10: Children's rights and child labour norms were seen violated by the District administration Kathua when a minor was engaged to clean the utensils for members of Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) during its meet at DC Complex at Kathua here today.
"The height of the insensitivity and inhumane approach of the district administration when they deployed a child to clean crockery during the visit of Cabinet Sub Committee and several other top bureaucrats, sources said.
The sources alleged the child was seen washing dishes and crockery in front of all state machinery which often seemed to hold tall claims for the protection of child' right and implement the child Labour prevention act.
"All this happened and continued till the meeting lasted but the top politicians and bureaucrats were seen unmoved and least bothered towards a humane issue, sources lamented.
