| XEn PHE assures inquiry against JE in graft allegations | | | AJAY SHARMA
Katra, Jan 16: Executive Engineer PHE, Sunderbani -Noweshra today assured inquiry against the Junior Engineer (JE) of PHE department posted in Sunderbani for allegedly harassing people on various pretext for minting money. The assurance of inquiry came to fore when panch of the panchayat Patrada in village Moraha Guraha namely Shyam Lal along with locals from same village including many from W-6, called on Executive Engineer XEn and apprised him about the alleged harassment included demand of money by one JE Dwarka Nath. During the meeting, the Panch and others alleged that JE Dwarka Nath demanded money for repair work of water tank and pipes. Besides this, they alleged that for the last many months they are forced to consume contaminated water as the very water tank of PHE had developed crack, thus leakage galore but repeated requests to concerned for repair work to JE (PHE) Sunderbani were turned to deaf ear. Irked villagers also alleged that JE instead of providing relief to them, demanded money for repair work. The JE (PHE) Sunderbani was allegedly asked locals to provide the land to the PHE department for installing water pumps and water tanks in place get government job. Rajinder Kumar of Nahoti a CP worker of PHE department leveled serious allegations against JE stating that he was beaten by some people and accordingly he apprised matter to the JE Dwarka Nath to get his complaint lodged to police station. "But to his surprise he came to know the said JE allegedly had taken the money from the accused assuring job in PHE to one of the accused and kept the matter on back burner, he alleged. He also said that JE often bullies others saying he had easy access to his seniors and even with the concerned minister. Xen KK Gupta after hearing the problems of the people said that he was not apprised by the JE and accordingly assured inquiry against him.
