| Polls to begin in mid April, end by May 10 | | Code of conduct from March 1 | | Parliamentary elections preparations Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 16 : The code of conduct for the parliamentary polls is all set to be imposed in the state on March 1, 2014, sources told reporters. Sources revealed further that the parliamentary polls will start from the mid April this year and the polling will end byMay 10. It has been further revealed that the state election commission has directed all the concerned officials posted for more than three years at a same place must be transferred till February 15. The reports informed that an important meeting chaired by the Deputy Chief Election Commissioner witnessed the participation of Deputy Commissioners of all the districts of the state including the senior officials of the police administration. Sources stated that the issues discussed in the meeting included the law and order situation of the state, electoral roll updates, number of electoral voting machines. The meet also discussed the polling staff required for the elections besides the facilities of the transport services during polls in all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was held at Vikas Bhavan Jammu today. |
