Deteriorating condition of 'health sector' in JK a matter of concern: PDP

Jammu, Jan 16: Expressing his concern over deteriorating condition of health sector in J&K, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Yash Pal Sharma today said poor people are worst victim due to non availability of medical facilities in the State. He also lambasted state regime for having formulated many policies for different section of people in the State but these policies yet are to be implemented on the ground and thus the outcome remained zero.
Yash Pal Sharma, MLC, today said that most of the hospitals in the state have virtually became referral centres as medical facilities are not available in the hospital across the state.
He said that during the last five years heath sector has been totally collapsed because those who have been at the helm of the affairs have failed to streamline functioning of premier health institute of the Jammu region Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital Jammu.
Earlier addressing a public meeting at Anand Nagar in Marh assembly segment, Yash Pal Sharma criticized the coalition government for its failure to provide good governance in the State.
He said that on papers present dispensation headed by Omar Abdullah has formulated many policies for different section of people in the State but these policies are yet to be implemented on the ground as a result of which people in many parts of the State and continue to suffer.
"This coalition Government needs to introspect about its achievement and failure during last four and half years of Governance", he said and pointed out the graph of failures was more than achievements as people have not been getting benefits at the ground level due to red-tapism and rampant corruption.
Jagjeet Singh Jagga, Haji Taj Khan, Puneet Jamwal, Vandana Chib, Meena Thakur, Sanjay Koul and many others also spoke on the occasion in which large number of people joined PDP.
