KATHUA, Jan 17: Sabi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur (SCCH) shall be playing against Vickey XI Pathankot in the final of the ongoing 4th Police Martyrs' Memorial North Zone Twenty20 Cricket Championship at Sports Stadium, here on January 19. In the second semifinal, played today, SCCH trounced the international cricketer, Joginder Singh led Haryana Police by a huge margin of 94 runs. Batting first, after winning the toss, SCCH set a target of 162 runs for the loss of nine wickets, which, in reply, Haryana Police could not chase and bowled out cheaply for 67 runs in 12.3 overs. Chetan made highest 47 runs off 36 deliveries while Ravi contributed 33-ball 46 runs. Joginder Sharma from Haryana Police was most successful bowler with three wickets.Later, chasing a target of over eight-run per over, Haryana Police made a poor beginning and the whole side bowled out for a small total of 67 runs in 12.3 overs to suffer a humiliating defeat. Kuldeep could only score in double figure with 12 runs in his account. From SCCH, Hanery emerged as most successful bowler with four wickets. He was later named man of the match for his all-round performance. Hanery was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5100 by KC Sharma of Chenab Textile Mills. International cricketer, Joginder Singh was also felicitated by the SP Kathua, Mohan Lal. |
