Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 17 : All Jammu and Kashmir SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association (VREA) on Friday staged a protest demonstration against the state government and management of SRTC for not addressing their long pending demands.
Led by its president, Dev Raj Bali, VREA employees assembled at Press Club and shouted slogans against the delay in redressal of their demands, which they said is adding to their miseries. They also demanded implementation of 6 Pay Commission from January 2006. Addressing the protestors, Bali said that they have been struggling since last four years but there was no response from the state government and the management of SRTC. He alleged that state government and SRTC management were in connivance with each other due to which retired employees of SRTC were suffering. He also alleged that Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department has issued the order for clearance of their pending dues but the same was not implemented by SRTC management. Those who were present on the occasion included Kulbir Singh, Santokh Singh, BV Sharma, Prem Nath, DN Sharma and Ehsan Elahi and Surjit Singh.
