| Congress leader's cavalcade stoned by unidentified youth | | | Et Report
Srinagar, Feb 3 : Two unidentified youth attacked the cavalcade of Congress General Secretary damaging one of his vehicle badly on Monday. Sources said that scores of Kakapora residents arrived at Srinagar Airport to receive Congress General Secretary Muhammad Anwar Bhat who according to some of the residents of Kakapora played a key role in granting Tehsil status to the area. "As the cavalcade with people carrying Congress party flags reached near Samboora, some miscreants appeared on road and attacked us with stones. One of the vehicles was damaged badly while one person received minor injuries," a person part of the procession said. Congress leader Muhammad Anwar Bhat said that police had not made enough security arrangements even though he had informed a particular police official about his arrival. "I was assured by the police official about the safety but don't know where from the miscreants who have affiliation with militants appeared on the road and attacked my cavalcade," Bhat said.When contacted Station House Officer (SHO) Pampore, Amit Sharma said that it seems there is some personal rivalry between few people of Samboora and Kakapora as a result this incident occurred near Sambora. "We have identified two to three miscreants and soon they we will be called to police station," he said adding that police had made proper security arrangements.Superintendent of Police Awantipora told CNS that he will look into the matter and will try to know what actually has happened. |
