Javaid Naikoo Srinagar, Feb 3: Amidst coloured reactions to the creation of new administrative units which got sanction after high voltage drama between coalition partners, sources within administration and state congress reveal that addition to Mushtaq Ganai and cabinet sub-committee (CSC) reports were made with an objective of countering the dominance of People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Out of around 274 new administrative units sanctioned for the Kashmir division, most according to the official sources particularly in North and South Kashmir fall within the distance of 1 to 3 kilometers and are clearly against the recommendations of S.S Bilorai, Mushtaq Ganai and CSC reports. According to sources within state Congress not only top brass leaders of both NC and state Congress some of whom are presently enjoying Ministerial portfolios, but also many candidates of both the parties who were defeated during previous assembly elections with a huge margin of votes by the candidates of PDP in North and South Kashmir forced their leaderships to include more places from their respective areas for political mileage. Sources said that the abrupt addition of 437 units which include 23 sub divisions,78 Tehsils,114 CD blocks and 222 nayabats within a few days was made as per the demands of candidates of both NC and Congress from across the Kashmir . Like in North Kashmir where most of the new units like Watergam, Magama and Dangi-wacha fall within few kilometers were added to the list after the interference of Shoaib Lone of Congress, Javaid Dar of NC and Mohammad Ibrahim of NC, similarly according to the sources in South Kashmir's Anantnag,Kulgam,Pulwama and Shopian districts where majority of the units sanctioned fall within a range of only 1 to 3 kilometers like Frisal, Yaripora, Qoimoh, Zainapora, Imam Sahib and Chitragam and similarly many such in Kulgam district were included in the list only after the interference of Minister for Tourism,Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Sakina Itoo and Showkat Ganai and many other renowned workers of NC and Congress.
