Akshay Azad Jammu, Feb 3: On one hand scores of employees of Agriculture Production Department Jammu are awaiting promotion benefits for the last many years, but on the other several officials, considered to be politically affluent, are presently holding too many posts across Jammu region. Sources informed Early Times that Chief Agriculture Officer Udhampur Ram Lal Bhagat has been holding additional charge of two other posts including Assistant Director Enforcement and Divisional Seed Certification officer Jammu. In the same way, Chief Agriculture Officer Poonch, Mohammad Yonus has been holding additional charge of two other posts. "Mohammad Yonus is also holding the additional charge of Sub Division Agriculture Officer Poonch and of Agronomist", sources said, adding that Chief Agriculture Officer Rajouri, Sadakat Hussain was holding charge of another post, which was District Agriculture Officer Rajouri. There were several other officers in the department, who have been holding additional charges, along with their post. Another officer is Omkar Singh Choudhary, Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu, who is also holding the additional charge of Farm Manager Chinnore Farm. Besides, Sunil Koul, is also holding two posts including post of Chief Agriculture Officer Ramban and district Subject Matter Specialist Command Area Development Ramban. Similarly, Ashwani Dubey has also been holding two posts including Project Officer Soil and Water Management and Assistant Soil Conservation Officer Sarore, while as Vinay Bhola is also holding two posts including Sub Division Agriculture Officer Marh and Assistant Agriculture Input Marh, sources said, adding that the list was too long. They further said that though the officers were not getting any additional salary for holding another post, but there were other benefits. "There are several important posts, from where many schemes are monitored and exchange of money took place, which benefit these officers", an official pleading anonymity alleged, adding that majority of officers, who have been holding additional posts have political patronage or were close to higher rung officers. The official further said that on one hand several Agriculture Extension Officers (AEOs) who were confirmed decades back, were not given promotions while on the other hand, one officer has been holding too many posts. "We are waiting for promotions for the last more than 30 years. Many of our AEOs even get retired without being promoted," an official said
