| Prof Gupta sees no justice in creation of administrative units | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 3 : Former Union Minister and MLA Prof Cham Lal Gupta in a statement today said that he has not seen any justice to three regions of the state by the creation of new administrative units.
"It is height of misleading the factual position that justice has been done to all regions of Jammu and Kashmir by creating new administrative units.
Moreover no mention is there about having fresh delimitation of Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies which is the core issue badly affecting to the whole polity and various other spheres of life", Prof. Gupta said.
While commenting upon the statements of the ruling leaders of the National Conference and Congress who claimed that it was historic to get approved the creation of 659 new administrative units, he questioned where are the funds?.
Prof Gupta said that the fiscal position of the state is already in shambles over seventy percent spending are dependent at the centre. Still the liabilities are mounting. For creation of these new units would require nearly two thousand crores for creation of infrastructure and also hundreds of crores would be needed more for salaries for new staff, he added. |
