| SSRB teachers list: Highly qualified aspiring candidates smell foul | | | Et Report
Srinagar, Feb 3 : Scores of candidates who had applied for the post of teachers today staged a protest in Press Colony Srinagar alleging that candidates possessing M.Ed and B.Ed degrees have been ignored and majority of them did not figure in the short list declared by Service Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) a some days ago. On the protesting candidates said that SSRB advertised post for teachers in 2012, as per notification issued by Board clearly mentioned that M.Ed and B.Ed degree holders will be given preference for the posts but to our surprise all the candidates possessing these degrees have been ignored and they did not figure out in the short list.
"The SSRB to the surprise of all candidates issued three notifications for the same posts, another lamented and added, "We applied soon after SSRB issued the notification. We were puzzled to see second notification and when we approached the Board the officials told us they need not to apply."
"Again SSRB issued another notification and this all the candidates were asked to apply again for these posts," he said adding that they came to know that second notification issued by Board was meant for blue eyed candidates.
The protestors demanded that their marks or points which they obtained in screening test should be made public while the degrees of those candidates should also be made public who have been shortlisted.
Meanwhile when contacted, an SSRB official on condition of anonymity told CNS that appropriated procedure was followed while short listing the candidates. |
