Jammu, Mar 4 : In what can be termed as nepotism through adhocism in administrative affairs, the state government re-employed as many as 136 government officials after their retirement in different administrative departments and public sector undertakings besides a good number of retired officials having acquaintances with the power corrodors have been re-engaged in the personal sections of the ministers including in the office of the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah. The government today admitted on the floor of the House while responding to a written question of NPP Legislator, Harshdev Singh that as many as 136 retired officers/officials were either re-employed or their services were extended during last three years on the grounds of "administrative exigencies". Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who is in charge of the General Administrative Department informed the House that 67 officers/officials have been re-engaged/re-employed after their retirement for the last three years in various administrative departments. Prominent among the retired re-employed officers are Mohammad Rafi who retired as DC Budgam and has been appointed as Mission Advisor SSA, S K A Qadri who retired as Director General Archives, Archeology and Musuems appointed as Consultant, S C Sawhney (ex-director Technical education) re-engaged as State Project Director SSA, Ghulam Hasam Shah (ex-director Horticulture Kashmir), Irfan Yasir (Vice Chairman LAWDA), Mohammad Anees (Regiona;l Transport Officer Kashmir), V K Abrol (ex- Chief Engineer PHE Jammu), Mir Najibullah (ex-Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir), Ravi Kumar Magotra (ex-Director Generall Accountys & Treasuries), Rashim Kashap (Ex-Director Finance), R K Mahindro (ex-member SSB), Khawja Bashir Ahmad (ex-commissioner Commercial Taxes), Mushtaq Ahmad Peer (ex-Chairman BOPEE), Munshi Muzaffer Husain (ex-Director Handicrafts). Prominent among the retired officers engaged after their retirement in the Personal Section of Ministers are Akhtar Ali Khan (ex-BDO), Shabir Ahmad Khan ( ex-Revenue Officer), Fida Ali (Deputy secretary in CM's office), Mohammad Shabir Ahmad (Senior Law officer), Kanwal Krishan (Chief reporter Law Department), Mushtaq Ahmad Pandit (ex-deputy secretary), M L Padha ( ex- Secretaru Housing Board), Krishan Lal Bhagat (Zonal Education Officer), Chand Ji ( ex- Accountant), Abdul Rehman Shagoo (Pvt. Secretary), G M Mir (BDO), B R Sharma (Pvt. Secretary), S K Arora (Time Scale KAS Officer), Manohar Lal Sharma (KAS Officer), Mohd Yousuf Lone ( Special Scale Officer of J&K Legal services), Bashir Ahmad Bandey ( Joint Director Planning & Marketting), Vaishno Dass Gandotra ( Pvt. Secretary), Abdul Ahad Khan (Additional Secretary LA), Jatinder Kumar Gupta ( Special secretary), Kuldeep Kumar Raina (DySP), P N Koul (Pvt. Secretary) and Abdul Rashid Zargar (Head Master). Among those retired officers re-engaged in various PSUs are Basharat Ahmad Dhar (ex- Commissioner Secretary), Shawkat Ali (retired Managing director), R K Razdan (retired Managing Director), V C Sharma (Managing Director). Ironically , the government has not mentioned the names of retired officers who have been re-engaged in various autonomous bodies during last three years. |
