ANANTNAG, Mar 4: Instead of taking action on the complaint filed by claimant regarding land encroachment in Anantnag district's Bijbehara area, Revenue officials aren't only covering up the scam since year 2009 but also declared the claimant a non resident despite electoral proof evidently reveal the heights of corruption inside the department.
Documents lying with Early Times reveal shocking details about how the revenue officials covered up the scam and are delaying the action against the single affluent man having strong political and bureaucratic connections despite over dozens reminders from Chief Ministers grievance cell.
According to documents on 1-05-2009, one Mushtaq Ahmad Dar s/o Gh Mohiudin Dar residents of Satkipora lodged a complaint against the resident of the same village identified as Ghulam Hassan Lone for grabbing State land measuring 10 Kanals worth over hundred lakh rupees, but the communication between Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and Chief Minister's grievance cell reveals that claimant Mushtaq Ahmad was declared non-resident by revenue officials in their separate reports.
Deputy Commissioner Anantnag last year in reply to Chief Minister's grievance cell has too acknowledged the fact that a criminal conspiracy was hatched by the officials who declared claimant non-resident just to help the State land grabber. Highly placed sources revealed that the State land (Khachari) was sold by the officials to the grabber at high cost illegally.
Since May 2009, CM's grievance cell has issued over 23 reminders to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag which seems to have been thrown into dustbin by the reminder receiver as after the passage of over 5 years land hasn't been acquired by the Government, neither any filed agency of the department has initiated action.
Claimant who had mastered courage to file complaint against the land grabber is now having least interest in fallowing up the case as revenue officials continue to shield the land grabber instead of taking action and accruing the State land.
