Jammu, Mar 4: Universal Foundation (UF) an NGO today demanded to disqualify Member of Parliament Hassan Khan from Ladakh Parliamentary constituency of Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing the media person, NGO president Dineshwar Singh referred about Hassan Khan who is and MP from Ladakh Lok Sabha seat and who has been representing this constituency as an independent candidate. He said that the mischief committed by MP who is representing the Ladakh constituency as an independent candidate, as he was elected from this seat for 15th Lok Sabha elections, whereas, he also contested for the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil in year 2013 as a candidate of JKNC and got elected from Simloo constituency. "Khan contested election from Ladakh constituency of J&K as an independent and later joined NC, so his status got changed without relinquishing his MP seat which he had contested as independent, he contested for the councilor's seat for LAHDC-K that means he should have resigned from his MP post or he should have on his own surrendered his MP seat after joining a political party. Since he has not left the NC" stated Jamwal. He further said that Khan had two statuses, MP and Councilor of LAHDC-K which was contradictory and amounts to anti defection law as he had violated the law when he join NC without surrendering from the independent MP position. Jamwal further said that in recent two prominent personalities UPA president Sonia Gandhi and Jaya Bacchan also have to surrender their posts as both of them were holding two posts of offices of profit.
