| BJP's rise from grave worries Congress in Udhampur -Doda segment | | | Jammu, Mar 13 : Catapulting Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, who recently is believed to be motivated to accept Congress ticket from Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency, is itself an evidence how serious Congress is taking the rise of BJP from the grave in Udhampur-Doda of Jammu region. "The Azad's nomination came after BJP' riding on Modi wave claimed to be having an edge over other political rival and even has kick started its polling campaign, political observers said. Observers also opinioned that Azad's nomination from Congress high command seems to be a counter to the ever growing 'Modi mania' in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections and his (Azad's) nomination has given a shot in the arm to the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile some also opined that Azad is said to have been told that since the BJP is having an upper hand in the two Lok Sabha constituencies in the Jammu region he should first of all secure a free hand in running the organization during the polling process. Reports said that the Congress high command has received reports that it was only Ghulam Nabi Azad who could pose a challenge to the BJP candidate from Udhampur constituency and Lal Singh may prove a weak candidate against ongoing Modi's wave. Meanwhile, some reports from the Doda segment has revealed that Congress was on a tricky wicket in the area following demand of justice to minority community which reportedly suffered heavily in Kishtwar riots last year and a leader of high stature like Azad only may bring a respite to Congress when emotions still are running high among the victims of communal riots. According to these reports, Azad may be able to secure a win, even with a thin margin, provided the camp of loyalists supported him sincerely. If sources within the party are to be believed what seems to surprise for Congress is that BJP suddenly has risen from the grave in Jammu region. |
