| Lal Singh denies rift with Azad | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Jammu, Mar 13: Congress MP from Doda-Udhampur-Kathua Parliamentary seat Chowdhary Lal today denied any rift with Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad over any issue including his candidature. Reacting to a news item published in today's edition of Early Times titled as "Congress High Command reprimands Lal Singh," said that Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is like his elder brother and he had no difference with him over the issue that he (Azad) was fighting election from Doda-Udhampur-Kathua Parliamentary seat which is being presently represented by him since last two terms. "I and Azad are one and there is no difference between him and me," said Lal Singh while talking to Early Times on phone from Delhi. He said that in case party nominated Ghulam Nabi Azad as party candidate from Doda-Udhampur-Kathua Parliamentary seat, he (Azad) will find me neck to neck with him. He said that he was in Delhi on party call and added that Congress High Command is the final authority to nominate the candidate from any seat. He said that he will honor the party decision. Lal said that party and Azad's blessing is important for him to move forward in his political carrier and not the ticket. He said that during his two time stint as MP, he always work for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden people of his constituency. He said that with the blessing of poor people, Congress party will emerge as victorious in Jammu and Kashmir. |
