| MVD organizes Road Safety awareness programme | | | Early Times report REASI, Mar 13 : With a view to create awareness about the road safety among student community, the Motor Vehicles Department organized a Road Safety Awareness Programme in Presentation Convent School, Reasi. On the occasion, emphasis was laid on the process of boarding and de-boarding from school buses. They were also made aware about several rules and precautions that are required to be followed while using the roads.Booklets on road safety and pamphlets and handbills carrying road safety messages were also distributed among students. Students were also made aware regarding eligibility for driving licenses. They were told that those who attain the age of 16 can apply for a learner's licence under motorcycle without gear category while those who are 18 or above are eligible for a learner's licence under motorcycle with gear category. Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Reasi Rajesh Gupta advised the students to strictly follow the road safety norms as the road safety applies to all the people including pedestrians and cyclists. Those who were present on the occasion include MVD Inspector Vikas Srivats besides Principal, teachers and staff of the school. |
