DDC inaugurates 'Employment fair' in Padder

Kishtwar, Mar 21 : in a bid to create mass awareness regarding various self employment schemes and to encourage the educated unemployed youth for taking benefits of various self employment initiatives of different government departments as well as banking institutions, District Employment and Counselling Centre, Kishtwar organized a mega Employment Fair at remote Gulabgarh, Padder.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan accompanied by S P Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal inaugurated the fair in which officials of all the departments, Lead Banks like J&K Bank and other institutions installed their stalls.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Kishtwar highlighted the importance of self employment schemes and called upon people to take benefits of these schemes. He said that the initiatives under SKEWPY and JKSES have shown good results in the state and a large number of youth have created viable income generating units in which other people also getting employment. DDC also listened to the grevancies of public and directed for speedy redressal. He also appealed to the people to strengthen the democratic foundations of the nation by participation in coming Lok Sabha elections. He also held a session regarding model code of conduct and made aware the public about their rights in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, Asst Director Employment informed the public that the experts from various departments will be available n the fair to guide the youth regarding their respective self employment initiatives. On spot registration of unemployed youth for JKSES, SKEWPY seed capital scheme and VSA was also done. All the district officers apprised the public about their employment programmes in the fair. Lead Bank Manager Kishtwar also delivered special lecture on skill development initiatives by various govt agencies.
The DDC along with Asst Director Employment Kishtwar Mohammad Ashraf Wani and other officers went through all the stalls and took stock of various employment schemes of different departments. A large number of people including women, educated youth and business persons participated in the fair.
