| Saroori asks party cadres to gear up for LS, Assembly polls | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 21: Jubilant over nomination of Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad as party candidate from Udhampur-Doda parliamentary seat, the MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori who is considered close to Azad chaired a meeting of party carders at Thathri in which several party leaders from Inderwal participated. While addressing the party caders, Saroori said that the party leaders and workers fight hard to finalize the name of Ghulam Nabi Azad for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabah seat and added that it is now the responsibility of the party workers to felicitate the win of Azad from this seat. Saroori who is also the member of Congress campaigning committee in the Jammu province further asked the party cadres to brace themselves up for 2014 Lok Sabha and state assembly elections. "You should keep this enthusiasm and feeling alive as the time for the test has arrived--- This is the election year, first the Parliamentary elections, then state assembly elections and we must ensure party win in both the elections" said Saroori. He said that only Congress party success will help the state to move forward in the field of development. He also advised the party leaders to set aside all the personal differences and work unitedly to cement the party win. He also stressed for better coordination with the leaders of coalition partner National Conference for smooth campaigning for Azad. He said that Azad has always made efforts to address the aspirations of party workers, adding that the win of Azad will restore the confidence among the party workers. Prominent among those who were present in the meeting include Mohammad Iqbal Teli, Mohammad Iqbal Keen, Haji Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Ghulam Haider Wani, Asgar Khangi, Piyaray Lal Sharma, Santosh Kumar, Captain Jagdish and others. |
