Lead by Farooq Inqalabi, a social activist of the area people said that for the last many months many areas are without electricity due to technical problems but the concerned officials don't bother to mitigate their difficulties despite several representations. "In the absence of electricity Public Health Engineering (PHE) department has stopped the supply of drinking water in many areas and people have to cover distance between 1-5 kilometers daily to fetch water from natural sources" said Farooq Inqalabi. He added that the worst sufferers are the students who were forced to adopt traditional sources including kerosene lamps , candles and some time Pine wood sticks( called 'Dinees' in local language) to prepare for their ensuing final examinations. Besides this there was a acute shortage of teachers in the government schools in Budhal area which has also badly affected their future. Farooq added that all the matters have been raised in the past several times with the concerned officials and even with the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, but no body care to mitigate our problems. "Now the people have decided to sit on protest in front of the office of DDC at Rajouri if our problems were not met with within next few days" said Farooq. |
